Position Details

Micronesian Air Cargo Services, located on the beautiful islands of Saipan and Guam, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our small, dedicated team as the Part 135 Director of Flight Operations. We take pride in providing exceptional 6 day/week, on-demand freight services and occasional passenger charter flights. As the Director of Flight Operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of our Part 135 operations.

Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures related to Part 135 operations.
2. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
3. Manage and lead a team of pilots and other operational staff.
4. Oversee the scheduling and coordination of flights, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
5. Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
6. Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and training, to ensure seamless operations.
7. Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance and operational excellence.
8. Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the flight operations team.
9. May perform duties as a flight crewmember

Requirements:
1. Meet qualifications required by § 119.71 for Management personnel for operations conducted under part 135 of this chapter
(a) To serve as Director of Operations under § 119.69(a) for a certificate holder conducting any operations for which the pilot in command is required to hold an airline transport pilot certificate a person must hold an airline transport pilot certificate and either:
(1) Have at least 3 years supervisory or managerial experience within the last 6 years in a position that exercised operational control over any operations conducted under part 121 or part 135 of this chapter; or
(2) In the case of a person becoming Director of Operations—
(i) For the first time ever, have at least 3 years experience, within the past 6 years, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 121 or part 135 of this chapter.
(ii) In the case of a person with previous experience as a Director of Operations, have at least 3 years experience, as pilot in command of an aircraft operated under part 121 or part 135 of this chapter.

In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, operations manuals, and industry standards pertaining to Part 135 operations.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on safety and operational efficiency.
Proficiency in using aviation software and systems for flight planning, scheduling, and record-keeping.
Proficiency using Microsoft teams and Slack
Bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.

Salary range $100,000-$120,000 depending on experience
